The Lewis County Fire District 15 (Winlock) received a call of a barn on fire on Friday, April 27, at 8:26 a.m., at 143 Morton Road in Winlock, Washington. LCFC 15 and four additional fire districts responded, including Vader, Toledo, Napavine and Chehalis. Firefighters initiated a defensive attack due to heavy fire conditions and structural instability. A total of 30 firefighters were at the fire which was controlled at 9:11 a.m.
Units stayed on the scene until 12:00 p.m. checking on hot spots.
The cause and origin are being investigated by the Lewis County Fire Marshall. The barn, "bunk house" and their contents were determined to be a total loss. No injuries were reported.
