Students of all ages are invited to the Winlock Miller Elementary School on Friday for Science Night. From 6 to 8 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria, they will be guiding all participating kids through some amazing experiments. Kids are asked to be accompanied by an adult. In addition to learning more about the Timberland Library system and the opportunity to sign up for a library card, the Title I program will also have information about math and reading.
I’d like to remind everyone one last time that the Olequa Senior Center’s annual Holiday Bazaar is all set for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They’ve got lots of vendors signed up, people, so quite the variety of craft items (and other goodies) will be for sale. Also, a lunch of chicken noodle soup, rolls, and pie will be available for purchase. Oh, and there will be homemade cinnamon rolls in the morning hours.
Normally, commodities would be scheduled at the senior center on Friday, but this event is still up in the air. They ask that you call ahead to make sure that everything is running according to schedule. For more information on these or future events, please contact the senior center at (360) 785-4325.
The Winlock Timberland Library will be hosting Junior PageTurners on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Children from grades 1 through 3 are invited to meet for a book chat, games, snacks, and a craft. This month’s featured title is “The Great Kapok Tree” by Lynne Cherry. If you have any questions, please contact the library at (360) 785-3461.
That just about does it for this week. Stay warm, everyone, and don’t forget to bring your umbrellas. For some reason, I suspect they will be needed.
