It is here, Egg Day is finally here! Friday night starts the annual Egg Day weekend. As many of you know, this is the time of year I always look forward to. I thought I would go back about 35-40 years and reminisce about the old days. How many remember Danny Voie dressed as the Rainier Beer? I always thought it was one of the best parts of the parade. I will never forget the empty can's coming out of the bottom, like the beer just went to the bathroom. Maybe it was one of those where you had to be there, but every time I think of the Rainier Beer, I think of Danny Voie. Thank you Danny for entertaining us all those years!

Winlock Schools are out for the summer. Superintendent Shannon Criss has done an incredible job for the school these past few years. She has developed so many wonderful programs for the students. She has without a doubt gone above and beyond the call of duty with providing meals during the summer. Shannon is one of those unique individuals; I swear she works 24/7. Hats off to you Shannon; Winlock is blessed to have you!
Winlock resident Robert Haines passed away on June 1. I have spent time with Bobby and his wife Diane and he will definitely be missed. Bobby had one son and one stepson, along with three sisters and one brother. We spent Thanksgiving together and he was always cracking jokes. Bobby, you will be missed, and Diane, you are in our thoughts and prayers!
Father's Day is this weekend; please tell your dad how much you appreciate him. I am blessed to have a great dad and when I grow up, if I am 10% like him then I'm going to be OK. Love you Dad and thank you for not just being a great dad but a wonderful friend!
