It’s getting close to that time of the year again. Yup! The Winlock’s 77th Egg Day is just two short months away, scheduled for June 21 through 23. This year, the theme is “The Great Eggscape”. If you’re interested in being a vendor during the celebration, you can pick up an application at City Hall or print one off their website at www.winlockwa.govoffice2.com. The applications are due by June 14.
Also, all entries for the parade scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. need to be turned in by June 17. Any late entries might be placed at the end of the parade. You can pick up applications also at City Hall or off their website.
The Winlock Timberland Library will be hosting Youth PageTurners on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Youths from grades 4 through 6 are invited to a book discussion about this month’s title, “The Watsons Go to Birmingham—1963” by Christopher Paul Curtis. There will be snacks!
The library will be closed on Thursday, May 2, for staff training. They will resume their regular schedule the following day. For more information on these or future events, please contact the library at 785-3461.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, guys, and the Olequa Senior Center is celebrating with a Mother’s Day Tea Tuesday, May 7. Lunch starts at noon, and in addition to a satisfying meal, they’ll include tea and a host of goodies. Be sure to wear a hat, too, as there will be a prize for the best one, in addition to other door prizes. After lunch, CJ Banks will be presenting a fashion show. The cost of all those festivities is a very reasonable $10. Call ahead to make reservations. Your Mom will thank you!
