Calling all local children for the Easter egg hunt coming up at the Winolequa Park! It’s scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. sharp. And when they say sharp, they mean all kids need to be ready by 10 a.m., because the hunt starts quick and ends quicker. The Winlock Community Club will be providing plenty of prizes for each age group, so be sure not to miss it!
The Olequa Senior Center will be hosting a Good Friday Potluck Lunch Friday at noon. Bring your appetite as well as a dish!
Don’t forget the center always plays dominoes Mondays at 10 a.m. On Thursdays, they now have crafters get together to hang out and swap patterns, also at 10 a.m.
Oh, and I should mention that the senior center now serves lunches on Mondays and Thursdays, in addition to Wednesdays and Fridays. You can call the Senior Center at 785-4325 to find out what’s cooking!
The Winlock Timberland Library will be hosting Paint Like Eric Carle! from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 2 through 4. On those days, children are invited to learn to paint like Eric Carle, who illustrated books like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?” You can come just one day to find out how to paint in layers on tissue paper, or come more often to create a finished piece. This event is part of Family Read-Aloud, a Timberland Regional Library district wide program. For more information, please contact the library at 785-3461.
Then, of course, Winlock schools will be out for Spring Break starting April 1! Take it easy, you guys (and by that, I mean the teachers, too). You’ve earned it.
