The City of Winlock has scheduled a public meeting for May 20 to discuss possible options for police services in anticipation of Police Chief Terry Williams retiring June 30.
Scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Community Building, city leaders are seeking input from the public regarding multiple options including hiring a new chief, contracting for the services of a chief and hiring a patrol officer, or contracting for all police coverage.
Members of the City Council have said they are willing to explore all such options at this time and are hoping to learn what residents feel would be most appropriate.
For more information, call City Hall at (360) 785-3811. Those who believe they may not be able to attend the meeting, or have more to say than could be stated during the allotted time, are encouraged to submit their comments in writing to City Hall before or after the meeting.
