Willapa Harbor opened their 11-12 All-Star Tournament against the All-Stars from Elma. Willapa got on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI double by Luke Gerow. Jack Jordan came in to score after a walk with two outs. Gerow pitched the first three innings, giving up two runs on a solo home run and an RBI single, and finished with three K's. Frank Roonsburg pitched the fourth, giving up one unearned run after two WH errors. Roonsburg had 3 K's. Willapa tied the game in the bottom of the fourth. Carter Pearson reached base on a fielders choice and scored on a wild pitch. Chad Flemetis singled and later scored on an overthrow by Elma's catcher. Willapa left the bases loaded after Mason Crawford's single and walks to Jordan and Roonsburg. Jordan pitched a scoreless fifth, picking up two K's.
Willapa had a chance to win the game before two runners were thrown out at home and third, on one play. Chase Flynn pitched the final two innings for WH, giving up one unearned run.
Montesano 17, Willapa 4
In a loser out game, Willapa came up against a very talented Montesano team. Monte got going early with four runs in the first inning. They added two more in the second. Willapa put three runs on the baord, after Frank Roonsburg and Chase Flynn reached base on a pair of Monte errors. Andrew Minton blasted a three run shot over the right field fence. Monte scored five runs in the third. Arjay Pearson came in to relieve starter Roonsburg in the fourth. He gave up a solo home run and then got three straight outs with one K. Jack Jordan pitched the fifth inning for Willapa. Monte finished their scoring with five runs on three errors, two doubles, and a home run. Mason Crawford scored Willapa Harbor's final run on Roonsburg's RBI double.
