Library upade: Mike Ouellette and sons are sheet rocking the building. Travers Electric will update the lighting. ToledoTel has wired it for WiFi. Volunteers are needed to help paint the inside. To help, contact Pat at 864-6757 or [email protected]. Next meeting is 6:30 p.m., June 3 at the library.
The Clean Up TOLEDO Day is Saturday, May 31. Show up at the boat launch at 9 a.m. or contact Mike at 864-2334 or [email protected] The City will have a huge collection box for anyone to drop off grass clippings, leaves, branches and other organic materials.
Vision:Toledo will share the Cheese Day Bingo event with the Toledo Youth Soccer Club. The event will be 6:30 til 9 p.m. on Friday, July 11. Hot dogs pop, and other snacks will be for sale.
Cowlitz River Distillery has been added to the vision:Toledo Wine & Cheese Tasting Garden this summer during Cheese Days. Come taste local wine, cheese, beer, chocolates and spirit. All proceeds benefit Vision: Toledo projects.
July 26 is the 4th annual Steelhead Fishing Derby. A delicious steelhead dinner will be included in the $25 entry fee for fishing participants along with cash prizes for the top 3 steelhead caught during the daylight to 4 p.m. event. Sign up at Toledo Napa or call 864-2121 or [email protected].
Toledo's School Garden Initiative is growing with plans to incorporate the middle school and possibly a hoop house. Families have committed to water and weed this summer at the elementary school. Chuck Reynolds, John Ball and Ag Science students at the high school grew over 500 tomato and pepper starts this year. Look for them for sale in front of Gallery 505, or email chuck [email protected]
Ron & Victoria Smith have the framework finished and plan to install their five fish sculpture this week.
Andy Lahmann is planning a screening in Toledo of his feature film Out of Nothing. Also, he wants to line up Holy Toledo! (the improv comedy show) for this summer as well.
