“The girls pulled another one off, winning the six-team Pacific County Meet,
edging South Bend for the second week in a row 133-128. I'm really proud
of the girls; it was a great team effort.
“Individual winners were Michaela Huber in the pole vault at nine feet, Katrina Ege (discus 99-1), and Dominique Kudasik in the 1600m 7:07.07. We had a lot of second's through fifths and that was the difference for us in the team scoring and winning the girls title.
“The boys finished second in the team totals scoring 90 points. David
Rockett was a double winner in the pole vault (13-0) and 300-metert hurdles (:43.47). Don Carlson placed first in the javelin at 147-10. Everyone seems to be coming around at the right time with quality performances. They are seeing their hard work beginning to pay off.
“At Raymond on Thursday, it was great track weather, as the boys and girls both placed second in the team scoring. Michaela Huber won the girls vault at 10-0; tying her PR. Anthony Sagen won the boys vault at 12-6, also tying
his personal best. The race of the day was the girls’ 3200, as Jessica Cook
got the win at the tape in a PR time of 13:02.73. Everyone seems to be
performing well going into sub-district. If the weather forecast holds out
for next week, I look for some good times and distances at Naselle.”
