Valley students earn Gold Ratings

Chahayla Barton, WA-FCCLA Director of Recognition and acting Region 2 Vice President, planned and facilitated the meeting with eight chapters present and 34 competitors and 42 evaluators, clerks and timers (82 total attended).

Receiving gold ratings at Region 2 STAR Events were freshman Jessica Koski and Bryttney Deniston for their Illustrated Talk on Lyme Disease Awareness; eighth graders Amber Anderson, Claire Borg and Sidney Pollard, for their work with first graders in Focus on Children, and sixth grader Hallee Layman for her portfolio on Nutrition and Wellness.

Two other sixth graders attended as timers since their STAR Event was an on-line Chapter Website and will be evaluated at national headquarters in Reston, Virginia.
