Tripling them up, the Vikings stepped hard to an early lead in the first period outscoring Ocosta 17-5.
With a 10-point lead by the halfway mark, the Vikings started to see their lead slip in the third period. Nine points scored from past the 19-foot mark, got Ocosta back in the game and pulled within three even with a final buzzer fast break by Willapa's Jason Fluke.
Keeping a heavy court press on the Vikings, the Wildcats were able to outscore Willapa Valley in the final stanza, tying the game twice before taking the lead for good once the game got midway into the 40's. Ocosta provided nine straight points to pace the Vikings into the final two minutes of the game, which triggered Willapa Valley into a timeout to try and refocus their game.
Like many games this season, the trailing team attempted to keep control of the game by sending the other team to the foul line, and hopefully only give up one point at a time. But in the final two-minute rush, Ocosta shot 6 of 8 from the foul line keeping their edge over the Vikings.
A final long ball from Willapa Valley's Chase Flemetis was too little too late as they ended their season with a 61-55 loss to the Wildcats.
Ocosta faces off against Raymond at Black Hills High School on Feb. 18.
