This Wednesday evening, the Vader City Council will be holding a public hearing regarding feedback on a temporary ban against recreational and medical marijuana facilities, passed by the council in July.
Scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, residents are invited to discuss whether or not they favor such a ban becoming permanent, with any changes in regulations potentially affecting a proposed marijuana production and processing facility at 747 Atlas Rd. on industrial property owned by Seattle-based developer Brandon Milton, which Milton anticipates utilizing along with fellow developers Jeff Carr, of Adan Farms, Anthony Bollibon and Jane Waite, of Growpro LLC, and Samir Breko, of Wagrown.
Also facing an impact by the council's decision, should they choose to amend zoning regulations instead, are two proposed marijuana businesses outside the city limits but within the Urban Growth Area: Gen-Ral Farms, a proposed production and processing facility located at 109 Enchanted Valley Dr. and owned by Gene and Ralph Childers, as well as Americanna Weed Co., a proposed retail facility located at 1234 SR 506 and owned by Cynthia Ventura.
All these businesses are awaiting license approval from the Washington Liquor Control Board, as of press time, and more information can be found at www.liq.wa.gov. For information or accommodations regarding the hearing, contact City Hall at (360) 295-3222.
