Looks like we have a volunteer for the 2016 city flower program . Thank you Eve Foltz a master Gardner who is delighted to be a part of the program. Now we need a volunteer for City decorations- come on gals call me 295-3036.

Are there any fish left in Alaska? Stop by the Little Crane for breakfast and let Jason tell you about his trip and " the Big one that got away". Isn't there always " a Big one that gets away"?

To our community; the recycle area for limbs, grass and clippings has a problem? Someone has dumped "old deck wood" , "household garbage " and cement! If we as a community do not practice smart recycle we may not have a place to go.

Saturday September 12 is National Day Of Service. We will be doing clean up that day with a large chipper and cleaning of ditches along 560. Volunteers meet at Werden Park . Clean up is from 9-12 with hot dogs for lunch.

If you missed the council meeting August 13 it was an eye opener. Council is considering a resolution to charge residence a fee to replace a kitchen faucet or toilet- city employees salary schedule appears to be VERY UNBALANCED-and rental property that does not meet at least "one councilman's" standard of living would get some type of fine? These new fee's may be a deterrent for normal maintenance and repairs therefore causing already older homes to deteriorate more? Is that the intent? Vader City Council meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Business mention this week is Clark's Country Haven located on the Winlock Vader Road. A beautiful landscaped setting and facility fully staffed with professionals to care for your elderly family member.

The Country Cruisers Car Club Scholarship of $1500 for 2015-16 academic year was awarded to Christie Moore Cascade High School for welding and Riley Scherer Centralia High School for diesel mechanics. Thank you Country Cruisers for your continued support to the scholarship program.
