As the basketball season draws to an end, the arch rivals had one more game to face each other. On the night of January 29, the Toledo Indians and Winlock Cardinals faced off against each other for the last time of the season.
"Although our game at Toledo didn't have the desired outcome, I was very pleased with our effort throughout the night. I was proud of our resiliency to battle back after Toledo started out very hot and opened up a big lead on us early. We were able to control the tempo and cut their lead to 7 at halftime." Winlock Coach Nick Bamer said after the game.
"I felt like Winlock played with a lot of energy and intensity, and we didn't match it throughout the whole game, only in spurts. They attacked the basket, especially Patching, who had 5 or 6 layins. Fano Arceo-Hansen had another solid rebounding night with 8 off the bench." Toledo Coach Grady Fallon stated about the teams.
That night, Winlock had great plays from Dawson Hall, Nicholas Patching and Thomas Gifford. Toledo players Joe Wallace, Jared Pohll, Reece Wallace, and Carmen Robles led huge contributions to the Indians' victory of 59 to 32.
