Local resident Royce Lawyer has opened Royce's Groceries and Liquidators in Downtown Toledo as of the end of last month with the goal of offering low-cost shopping options.
A Toledo man has opened up a new liquidation store right downtown and has already been met with enthusiasm from residents glad to see another store filling the gap after the recent closure of Sunshine Liquidators.
Royce Lawyer, owner of Royce's Groceries and Liquidators, located at 119 Cowlitz Way, said he decided to open the store at the end of last month both as a way to remain active as a businessman and also to provide low-cost shopping options for local residents.
"I just thought it would be a good deal," he said, stating many of the items he carries end up being between 30 and 70 percent cheaper than alternatives in other stores. "My plan and goal is to keep prices way down."
Currently the store offers a variety of items, including boxed meals, canned goods, breads and candy pars, as well as toiletries and other items. Lawyer said he hopes to soon expand his inventory to include more options like canned soup and chili and intends to offer new additions on a regular basis.
"That's what I'm working on right now," he said, stating he is making weekly trips to area liquidation centers to add to his store.
Royce's Groceries and Liquidators is currently open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with hours to be adjusted as customer needs allowed, said Lawyer. Be sure to drop by during business hours to see what they have on sale.
Royce's Groceries and Liquidators is located at 119 Cowlitz Way, near the Post Office.
A wide inventory of items is currently available, with additions expected regularly.
