The Winlock Lions' 2021 was quite a year. In person meetings were less frequent but activity carried on. The Egg Day Committee, sponsored by the Lions, continued work and pulled off a successful Egg Day 2021. Several of their participants joined the Lions Club.
Two Winlock High School scholarships were presented to Coleson Richendollar and Cody Dequise; and the Otis Roundtree Award for the most Inspirational football player was awarded to Sam Howsden.
Hanging flower baskets were hung for the spring and summer with help from the Miller Foundation Fund and the Winlock City Council. The flowers were watered all summer by a committee headed by Lion Heidi Uhri. The flower barrels were planted and maintained by a committee headed by Jeanie Emmeneger and Heidi Uhri.
The Lions sponsored a Vision and Hearing Clinic for the Winlock Elementary School, K through 6th grade in November 2021, which helps to identify students that might need vision and hearing follow-up.
Vern Zander Park was decorated with Christmas lights for the holidays by the Lions Club. In addition, the Lions Club helped make a better Christmas for more Winlock residents by donating to The Christmas Giving Tree.
The Lions Club looks forward to working with and for our Town of Winlock through 2022.
