Sunflower house at Kiwanis

Staff

Smith has worked with Willapa Valley educators several years, offering middle school students opportunities to design sunflower houses for the gardens. The students practice math skills in estimating the number of seeds to buy for their designs, and the cost of the seeds. Smith also looks for originality and solid work on student presentations when she makes her selection of houses to plant.

Also during April, Raymond Kiwanis also will look into the county commissioner race.

Non-members are always welcome to attend Kiwanis programs. The Raymond group meets at 12 noon each Wednesday at The Barge, 100 Laurel, Raymond. Anyone interested in any part of the Raymond Kiwanis' activities may call chapter president Vivian Edersheim, 934-5767, for more information.
