A portion of a human skull was found by a crab fisherman. While crabbing off Westport early Friday, a fisherman found in one of his pots what might be a human skull.

It was found approximately 2.3 miles off the beach at a depth of about 100 feet. The pot was set the week of Feb. 9.

The Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office has sent the remains to the King County Medical Examiner's Office. The FBI is going to examine the skull for DNA. The results are expected to be back in one month.
