Raymond took a handful of track and field athletes down to Astoria during spring break last Saturday and came away with quite a few solid results.
“We took a small but dedicated group down to the Daily Astorian Invite in Seaside on Saturday,” Raymond HS Head Track and Field Coach Mike Tully told the Herald. “The rain and wind wasn't conducive to good times or marks, but we did have some good results.
“It was good to get some different competition coming off spring break to set ourselves up for the last few weeks of the season,” Tully added.
“Gabby Oatfield scored a secnd-place finish in the high jump and a third-place finish in the javelin,' Tully said.
“Mikayla Collins ran well to finish second in the 3000,” Tully reported.
“Jayce Freeman competed well in both hurdle races to nab a third in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 110's,” Tully noted.
“Terry Broten finished just behind Jayce in the 300 hurdles to match his fourth-place finish in the 100,” Tully said.
“Sasha Crow had a good day in the javelin to finish third,” Tully added.
Tully told the Herald that his squad was scheduled to compete at Naselle on Tuesday and are at Ocosta on Thursday.
