It's looking very bright and cheerful around town these days. More homes than ever seem to be decorated, making things look very festive after dark. And since the shortest day of the year is less than two weeks away, that's pretty early. It's also a sign of how many homes have sold this year. There were four closing in just one week last month!
The holiday activities are gearing up also. The Women's Club will have their luncheon meeting this Wednesday at noon in Pioneer Hall with special entertainment by Norm Price. The next day has the ladies of the Ryderwood Women's Christian Service joining the annual Christmas Program at the Toledo Presbyterian Church. Contact Carol at (360) 295-3799 for info on carpooling - I believe the program is at 1:30 p.m.
Friday's dinner at the Café will be Roast Beef with green salad and mashed potatoes. Beverage and dessert are included for $9. Call Linda at (360) 295-0875 by Wednesday to make reservations.
Come by the Café on Monday from 4-6 p.m. for the best in burgers and home-style soups. There will be Karaoke starting at 6:30 p.m. this coming Monday. Come out and join in the fun.
Tuesday's Senior Nutrition lunch will be Beef Stroganoff with noodles w/ kale, Capri veggies and sliced oranges. The meals are a real bargain at $3. Call me at (360) 295-3813 or (360) 355-7315 by 6 p.m. on Monday to make or break reservations.
The Cheer Bag crew will meet next Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. to prepare the Cheer Bags for delivery on Saturday, Dec. 20. They will set up the assembly line in the dining hall and volunteers are welcome.
A Christmas Party is planned for Monday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium after burgers at the Café. The theme is "White Christmas" and folks are encouraged to watch the movie ahead of time to increase their changes of winning at the trivia contest. It will be a beautiful and festive occasion, for sure.
Terry asks me to let folks know that there won't be any Open Mic evenings in December. What with everything else that is going on plus the cold weather, it seems like a good idea to cancel.
