The heat got turned on when the kids from Arizona came for a visit. And then that stormy weekend with the power off almost as much as it was on. The Café served up hot food and a place to use the Internet and charge "devices". Ryderwood is just so "techy"!
The Arizona crew thought it so odd that record-setting rains were possible in the wet state. I appreciate that the former Marine re-hung my flag out in the wind and rain. And guess what they left here? Rain gear!
You know by now what the first week of the month means: the VFW Town Breakfast is this Saturday from 8 – 10 a.m. The guys say to expect improved and speedy service.
There’s news on the music front: Karaoke returns this coming Monday after taking a week off for a heart attack. That’s at 6:30 p.m. in the Café – come early and enjoy scrumptious burgers (beef, chicken or veggie), soups and ice cream sundaes.
The other news has to do with Acoustic Saturday Night that falls on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Paul has obligations on those evenings for awhile so Terry T. will return with the "New & Improved Open Mic" nights. That’s 7 p.m. at the Café.
Don’t forget to let Marty know if you plan to participate in the 9th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair the weekend of Oct 25 and 26. That’s (360) 295-0096. More on that next week.
