Ryderwood’s 4th of July festivities were another great success with the Grand Marshals leading the fire trucks, Model A’s, Jeeps, etc. The BBQ and Picnic left no tummies unfilled and there were nearly 40 pies for the Pie Walk. Fun for all!
This is a busy week in a busy month. The Women’s Club has a Coffee Stop under way this week and they will not have a meeting this month. The Red Hat ladies will meet on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Pioneer Hall. Dress up in your red and purple and join some fun.
This is a week for the musical happenings in Town. Acoustic Saturday Night (“Open Mic”) will be this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Café. Join host Paul Van Dyke, the fine talent and enthusiastic audience for an evening of entertainment. By the way, Paul also plays the newly restored Wurlitzer organ at the Fox Theatre in Centralia. That’s Fridays at noon. Bring a lunch or purchase one nearby.
Monday evening will then be the next Karaoke night. There’s been quite a turnout of late, so plan to participate and / or observe this evening or every other Monday evening. That’s 6:30 p.m. at the Café – come early for burgers and / or soup.
I’m putting in information on an upcoming meeting of the Fire Wise committee on Thursday, July 18 at 12:30 in Community Hall. This will be a planning meeting for the fall clean-up and fund-raising event. Plan to attend and bring your ideas.
