A bit more rain and wind recently, but everything greening up beautifully. While we are used to our evergreens year ‘round, the budding deciduous trees (the ones that lose their leaves) provide another green that is bright and brilliant. The tulips are starting to do their thing, but only the ones behind fences are safe from the deer.
While some folks took in their flags over the winter, it’s good to see so many of them going back out. Visitors love seeing them (and wonder what the funny poles and white things are if they aren’t flying), and their designer will be pleased to see them when he returns.
The Karaoke season started this past Monday at the Café and it will be every other week from now on. It now starts at 6:30 p.m. (instead of 7 p.m.) in order to encourage folks to come for Burgers & Soup and stay for the music and fun.
This is a busy month for some of the ladies in Town as the Garage Sale weekend approaches the weekend of April 26-27. The Women’s Club Meeting scheduled for this Wednesday will be lunch at Parker’s in Castle Rock. Carpoolers can meet at the Café at 11:15 a.m. Many of the same group will gather at Pioneer Hall the next day (2 p.m.) for their monthly Gathering.
This Saturday evening will be the first “Open Mic” of the month. I’m sure some thought it was last week, but five Saturdays in March meant a 2-week break. Sunday will be the next Ice Cream Social and Card Bingo – a fun way to “exchange your change” with neighbors.
Returning Snowbirds, new residents and the longer days will contribute to larger gatherings at all neighborhood activities. Plan to join the fun – bring a friend or neighbor.
