Raffle quilt winner

Senator Brian Hatfield (D-Raymond) picked up the Willapa Harbor Quilters' 2014 raffle quilt Sept. 9. The happy winner bought $10 in tickets at Everybody's during summer ticket sales, then one of those tickets was pulled out of the barrel Aug. 23 at the end of the Pacific County Fair. The quilters always ask a non-member, usually a passerby, to pull the winning ticket; this year the person who happened to be walking by was Lenora Tanaka of Lebam. Senator Hatfield said the quilt makes a perfect present to his wife, Jackie, for their second wedding anniversary, which is often remembered with a cotton gift. The quilt, of course, is made of cotton.
