Basically, after 10 years, there were so many holes in the paper trail they were unable to confirm any findings of wrongdoing on the man-lift issue.
I was asked by many citizens early this year to assist in looking into the man-lift issue involving Jason Dunsmoor. There were many other citizens and past employees assisting. I certainly had no dog in the fight other than to see what appeared to be an abuse of power by the PUD#2 was highlighted.
It is certainly my opinion that there has been wrongdoing by PUD#2 in this and other issues, and there has been a cover-up by the PUD #2 management, and two commissioners.
It became very apparent early on that we have two commissioners: Diana Thompson and Ron Hatfield that are not qualified intellectually or from a trust- value standpoint to serve as our commissioners. They, for sure are not independent of the manager, Doug Miller.
It has become increasingly apparent to me that Mr. Miller is not an effective manager, and is spending most of his time traveling about the country on our dime on trips of self promotion for a higher paying job.
The PUD #2 Chief Engineer, Jason Dunsmoor, is a disgrace. All of this has and will continue to result in poor management of our PUD. The employees of the PUD #2 continue to serve us very well, and deserve better leadership.
Our State Constitution provides us the PUD #2 rat payers a remedy; it’s called an election. Future abuses and poor management will continue until these folks are removed from power by us in an election.
The Tokeland power extension, promoted by Hatfield, and Thompson has the potential to increase your monthly power bill by $30-$40/month, for absolutely no benefit, other than an ego-trip for Thompson and Hatfield.
These two commissioners are in their position for the wrong reason, to serve themselves, not us.
