Pirate Daze in Westport is this weekend

Avast there, and blow me down! Pirate Daze is upon us again.

This year the pirate will take over Westport for their free festival Rusty Scuppers Pirate Daze from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26.

The festival opens at noon on Friday and lasts until 7:00 p.m. Look for the action in the Westport Marina area, but don't expect to drive down Westhaven Dr. This event is a park and walk. Or run if the pirates are after you. See the awesome costumes and catch some pirate booty.

Look for inflatables and other booths geared for kids. Check out the food suppliers and pirate gear vendors as you walk down the street.

The event features family fun for all ages from mini brig battles, live music, sword fighters, black powder demos, and costume contests for scallywags pirates. Even the local shops get involved offering specials for the festival goers.

Whether it is site seeing, pirate watching, shopping, eating, or listening to live music, this event has many ways to stay entertained. Hope to see you there.
