Pe Ell whipped South Bend 55-34 Friday night at the Jack Q. Pearson Holiday Classic at Tenoski Gym. Helping the Lady Trojan cause was the Lady Indians committing 32 turnovers. Kalya Capps scored 22 points for Pe Ell.
Katlyn Sawyer put up a double-double with 13 rebounds and 11 points. Edith Razo scored 11 points and Sierra Cearns dished up four assists.
"It was a Christmas-style game," SBHS head coach Gary Wilson told the Herald. "We just had way too many turnovers. If we have more than 16 turnovers in a game, we cannot be effective. They were quicker than we were in all parts of the game."
The Tribe fell to 3-3 on the season. South Bend played Concrete Saturday night also in the tournament. The Lady Indians visit Raymond Saturday and play at North beach Tuesday (Jan. 7).
