Jody and Mike Peterson
As of November, 2015 there are new owners at Chris' Motorcycle Shop in Hoquiam. Mike and Jody Peterson are running the shop, which is open from Tuesday to Friday at 9am to 6pm, and on Saturday from 9am to 3pm. Chris' Motorcycle shop insures that you don't have to go out of town for an easy fix to your bike. The shop also offers quality biking and other sports gear. The Petersons have been running the shop since November in 2015.
Owner Jody Peterson spoke with the Grays Harbor Herald on what it was that brought the two to the area: "We are from Utah and came to Washington years ago on a family vacation with our motor home. We went whale watching and traveled up the 101. My husband's boss back in Utah ran a motorcycle shop for twenty years and Mike was a mechanic at the motorcycle shop," said Peterson. It was on a visit for an anniversary that the Peterson's were made aware of a motorcycle shop that was being sold. "We would have never opened a motorcycle shop in Utah because it snows for the winter, but everyone rides during the winter here," said Peterson. So Mike and Jody went ahead and purchased Chris' Motorcycle Shop in Hoquiam in November and have done quite a bit with the shop since.
The biggest change is that the shop will now accept all makes and models, not just Harley Davidson. "We do tires, oil and batteries. simple services so that you don't have to go to a dealership forty miles away," said Peterson. The shop will also service ATV's. Chris' Motorcycle Shop is now open for consignment, anybody can put their motorcycle on the showroom floor, "it's kind of helpful that way we're knowledgeable about the item and we can also let the customer hear it run," said Peterson. Peterson also cited that more retail inventory will be brought to the store, including rain suits, helmets and boots. The gear isn't just for motorcycles, it's for sports bikes and ATV's as well. Stop in at Chris' Motorcycle Shop to welcome Mike and Jody.
