Citizens in need of sandbags should come to the public works shop located behind the Hoquiam City Hall.
A few openings are still available in Grays Harbor College's new program, Commercial Food Prep, which begins in January at the start of Winter Quarter . Instructors will be Candi Bachtell, and her son, Josh Bachtell. The winter quarter courses will meet during evening hours Mondays through Fridays in the Culinary Arts area of Aberdeen High School.
Applications are now being accepted for the Habitat home to be built at 1606 Coolidge Road in Aberdeen. Pick up an application packet at the Habitat for Humanity Store, 3005 Simpson Avenue in Hoquiam on Tuesday, Friday 9am-5pm or Saturday 9am-3pm. The Aberdeen Timberland Library will hold "Bollywood at the Holidays" on Wednesday, December 30 starting at 5:30pm. The event is for adults and teens. There will be a belly dancing class, sample Indian appetizers and henna tattoos.
