Talley's Folly auditions will be held Monday May 23 and Tuesday May 24 at 6:30 PM at the Driftwood Theatre at 120 East Third Street in Aberdeen. The director is looking for two people; a man and woman in their 30's or 40's. Rehearsals will begin in May and continue through July with the show opening on Friday, July 8th. Sunday, June 4 is Monte Trails Appreciation Day/National Trails Day and to celebrate, City Forester Loren Hiner is asking for volunteers to join him in sprucing up the city trails at Lake Sylvia State Park. Meet at the kitchen by the beach area at 9am, bring gloves, string trimmers, pruners, hand tools, lunch, and appropriate clothing and boots. They will work until 1pm. Aberdeen Police are seeking tips on a stolen lawn trimmer after an interrupted burglary in the 200 block of North E Street overnight. A source at the department tells us that a homeowner found someone in their garage just after midnight Wednesday morning.
The recreational Halibut fishing in the ocean waters near Westport has been closed. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife says that the all-depth recreational halibut fishery in Marine Area 2 listed as the Westport area has been closed.
