Emily Walker, Pacific County Assessor Bruce Walker's wife, is fighting multiple Myeloma cancer and is getting ready to go in for a stem cell transplant. This means that Emily will have to stay in the hospital and both Bruce and Emily will be living near the hospital for up to 3 months.
A special lunch is being served on November 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Treasurer's Office in the Pacific County Courthouse located at 300 Memorial Drive in South Bend.
"The Assessor's office and the Treasurer's office would like to help offset some of the out of pocket expenses that go along with that by having a benefit luncheon on November 18, 2022," said Shelly Flemetis. "Therefore, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. we will provide lunch to anyone who stops in for donation only. We realize that everyone might not be in a place to help monetarily but we will also have a book of well wishes available to sign. Please come get a lunch and sign this book as it will accompany Emily on her battle. As a person who has been on the receiving end of the generous people of this community and county, I would just tell you that those well wishes go so far in the days away from family and friends. Please consider making the time to come sign the book and leave a memory and a smile."
The lunch features a turkey sandwich, pasta salad, desert, and a drink. If you can not make the lunch, but would like to donate, please send your donation to 2192 Fowler St., Raymond, WA 98577.
