Local Memorial Day services

Local veterans groups will be holding a number of Memorial Day ceremonies at local cemeteries this coming Monday, and local residents are welcome to attend.

Participants are encouraged to gather at 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans Hall (575 Nevil Rd., Winlock) with a flag lowering ceremony to begin at 9 a.m. Cemeteries and time will then be as follows:

9:30 a.m. – Napavine Cemetery.

10 a.m. – St. Urban Cemetery.

10:45 a.m. – Vader Catholic Cemetery.

11:15 a.m. – Little Falls Cemetery.

Noon – Winlock Cemetery.

(Veterans will then break for a potluck at the Veterans Hall)

1:30 p.m. – St. Frances Mission.

2 p.m. – Lone Hill Cemetery.

2:30 p.m. – Toledo Cemetery.

All area veterans are encouraged to participate in the ceremonies, as well as help with setup and takedown. For more information, call American Legion Post 101 Commander Wendy Carolan at (360) 785-0929.
