Local marathon runner completes two races in Tacoma and Olympia

Heather Seay at the conclusion of the Capital City Marathon.

Heather Seay of Winlock (daughter of Ron & Kathy Heikkila) completed the Tacoma City Half Marathon (13.44 miles) on May 1. Two weeks later, on May 15, she completed the Capital City Marathon (26.2 miles) in Olympia.

Local residents may have seen Heather around the area on her many training runs. Recently she ran from Winlock to Toledo and back to Winlock, which is about the distance of a half marathon. She says that on the way back over I-5 is a "killer hill."

She has also run the Willapa Hills Trail from Chehalis to Adna and back to Chehalis, a round trip distance of about ten and a half miles.
