Lewis County Sheriff's Office Investigates Death in Toledo

Detectives responded to a report of a body found lying on Mandy Road, in Toledo, on February 4 at approximately 8 p.m.

The investigation, thus far, leads detectives to believe a man had been walking southbound on I-5 and possibly jumped or fell from the overpass onto the roadway below. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. There is no evidence of foul play at this time.

Witnesses reported seeing the man walking across the I-5 bridge (which crosses Mandy Road) acting "erratic" and "animated" shortly before his body was found by a passing motorist.

An autopsy is scheduled for next week. The Lewis County Coroner's Office will release identification information once next of kin has been notified.
