Kites cover Grayland skyline

“We came to enjoy a nice day on the beach and in the water but I also enjoy flying kites. We’re having a great time,” said Tim Kaufman of Tumwater.

The weather even seemed conscious of such activities. Though slightly overcast Friday afternoon, the sun came out full force on Saturday and Sunday making a fantastic backdrop for the beautiful kites.

It was not all fun and games however, there were kite competitions going on. Some were judged on the kite’s appearances and other on the flier’s ability to control and maneuver their kite. All in all, it was a festive atmosphere in which anyone could have a memorable time.
