Jeff Scroggins & Colorado to perform at Raymond Theatre

Jeff Scroggins & Colorado, the featured musical group, is a high energy, high mountain "bluegrass explosion" that features the amazing banjo playing of Jeff Scroggins. Jeff's fiery style and lightning fast licks have earned him many fans worldwide and have left many a first time listener in stunned disbelief! The band also features the award winning mandolin playing of Jeff's son, Tristan Scroggins.

Providing bluegrass vocals is the powerful voice of front man Greg Blake. In addition, his phenomenal bluegrass guitar playing has earned him nine nominations and an amazing five consecutive wins as the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America's Guitarist of the Year!

K. C. Groves adds her beautifully authentic voice and her solid bass playing. She helps to define the band's sound and Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of Americaher presence strongly contributes to its Colorado identity.

Joining the band for this tour is Blaine Sprouse, a well-known fiddler who played with the supergroup Alabama. Sprouse continued to carve an impressive niche, performing with both Grand Ole Opry members and young stars of bluegrass. Sprouse retired to fulfill a lifelong desire to return to school to complete his education and earn a law degree. But in 2009, music interest resurfaced. Fiddle and bow in hanSociety for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of Americad, Blaine Sprouse is back!

This SAL concert is the first to feature an opening act. Folksinger and jewelry designer Mara Levine will start the show with about half an hour of songs (backed up by Jeff Scroggins and Colorado), then there will a fifteen-minute break, then the main show will start. Levine creates beautiful interpretations of fine traditional and contemporary folk songs. Levine also designs her original style of jewelry and will have some pieces on sale at the show.
