Librarians at the Winlock Timberland libraries have some end-of-year fun up their sleeves for children.
Magician Jeff Evans will present his Holiday Magic show at the library Friday at 2 p.m.
Children and their families will see rope tricks and money magic. Volunteers from the audience will perform tricks such as the "torn and restored napkin"—to their own surprise, joked Evans. Other magical amazements will include Santa, a reindeer that does card tricks, and many other wonders.
Although Evans is known for slipping a lot of learning into his performances, Holiday Magic is his just-for-fun show. Earlier this year Evans won a Seattle’s Funniest Magician contest at a family entertainment workshop and received ParentMap magazine’s 2013 Golden Teddy Award for Best Live Entertainment.
"He captures kids’ interest immediately," and "He has such a great way of connecting with the kids," said two parents.
