Willapa Valley whipped Adna by 22 strokes in boys golf last Thursday at the Willapa Harbor Golf Course in Raymond. The Vikings turned in a winning score of 208, while the Pirates scored 230.
“Golfing in a torrential downpour evidently raises scores,” Willapa Harbor Tri-District Head Golf Coach Dave Lund told the Herald. “That was evident at today’s match between the Willapa Harbor teams and Adna Boys, with an appearance by the Ilwaco Girls (255).
“Nicholas Betrozoff shot a 45 to earn medalist honors, leading Willapa Valley to a 208,” Lund said. “Not a typical score for the way they have been shooting recently.”
Vikings (208): Nicholas Betrozoff (45), Cameron McAllister (51), Damian Redding (56), Kyler Oblad (56), Trevor Ritzman (59), Stephen Camenzind (65).
“Emma Lorton of South Bend won the medalist honors for the girls with an excellent round of 52,” Coach Lund said.
Willapa Valley's Emily Fluke shot a round of 64.

“Nicholas Betrozoff shot a 1 under par 35 at the Willapa Harbor course Monday to lead Willapa Valley to a sizzling 178,” Lund told the Herald.
“Conditions were great at the course today,” Lund said. “Kyler Oblad and Cameron McAllister had excellent rounds as well, but a 35 really gets your attention.”
