Toledo has a new drive up coffee stand serving the customers of South Lewis County. They offer a wide variety of drinks and a few food items for your breakfast or a quick snack. Steamboat Expresso is located right behind the Valley View Clinic in Toledo.
The new owners are James and Tiffany who reside in Toledo. Tiffany stated, "We have lived here for about 4 years. I grew up in Castle Rock and both my best friends lived here in Toledo. James moved up here from Arizona a couple years back so we could start our family and live in this wonderful town. My mom and brother are locals, living just a few blocks away and she was our first paying customer and is one of our daily regulars! Crystal, James' best friend moved up from Arizona to help them get their venture off the ground."
They saw a need in the community for a drive up coffee stand and they acted, Tiffany continued, "We love this little community and are so happy to raise our little man in this town. We noticed a need for a drive up coffee stand, and originally wanted to do a little drive up stand alone, but then walked into the Southwest Washington Reality office and talked with the owners and worked out the spot we are currently at. The first of many ventures we have planned for this great little town." They plan on expanding to the space directly next to them later.
"We offer all Coffee drinks known to man," said Tiffany, "every Lotus energy and Redbull types. We do blended, iced and hot. Our goal is to pull shots that are great every time despite being a drive up. We are trying to capture the art of coffee with express espresso. Good Coffee to go! We like to say 'come get your dirty bean water here!' Almost all our main suppliers are local, veteran, woman, or small business owners."
It was such a treat watching James prepare an espresso shot, the care he took was amazing. It's not just the barista who makes the cup of joe good, it takes much more. Tiffany continued, "We believe in having a great roaster, we think ours is the best! Hebrews Roaster out of Kalama, Washington. We tried so many roasters and it was a smooth partnership. We believe after a great roasted bean good equipment is next, we have LaMarzocco Espresso Machine, and third is great baristas who know how to pull a perfectly three layered shot." James definitely showed his passion for pulling the perfect shot, he explained what perfection was.
"We have daily specials, and customers should expect a great cup of coffee or energy and polite conversation, and fabulous prices," said Tiffany. "We have engaged the community with Social Media, and even have several local customer-made drinks already. We make these the specials on Fridays. We choose one each week, we name it after the customer who created it, and share it with others."
They are here to serve the community, Tiffany continued, "We are open 7 days a week to serve this town we love so much. Can't wait to share our coffee with you!"
These two amazing young people met in the Army, Tiffany stated, "After graduating high school, James and I went to be a Blackhawk Helicopter Mechanics where we met at the Army Aviation Academy in Ft. Eustis Virginia." James was helping the building owner remodel the space while working for Weyerhaeuser. James was born in California but resided in Arizona prior to his service. James is now the owner/manager and one of our favorite baristas while Tiffany is the weekend barista. They have a young son Logan who just turned 6 months.
It was a treat to meet such young enthusiastic entrepreneurs who are here to bring the residents an incredible cup of coffee. They will not just give you the drink of your choice, but you will leave with a smile on your face from your conversation.
