Gauger Resorts to Smear Tactics with Tasteless Letter

There was a time when I thought Dave Gauger was a reasoned and respected community member who understood basic government and had something relevant to say, but since he apparently thinks the County Prosecutor has something to do with legislative issues, I think it's safe to say that ship has sailed.

Initially it struck me as somewhat odd that Lisa Ayers campaign manager would draft such a tasteless letter, and I remain amazed that Mr. Gauger's concern for an ample Viagra supply overrides our need for effective law enforcement and public safety, but apparently David Burke and Lisa Ayers are truly threatened and their desire to retain their jobs knows no bounds.

I mean really, isn't it telling when every cop in Pacific County tells you that we need a new prosecutor? And if their word wasn't enough, doesn't it speak volumes when the only case David Burke handled is a theft of $15,000 by a government employee and he gave her 240 hours of community service and a $35 a month fine?

If this is sufficient legal representation for Lisa Ayers and her campaign manager, what does that say about her, let alone the other commissioners who apparently approve of David Burke's plea bargains.

We need a prosecutor who will actually handle a caseload and will successfully prosecute those who damage our community.

Please join me in supporting someone who has done nothing more than come here and prosecute the most difficult cases this county has had and shown us that he can do so effectively.

Mark McClain has shown that he is up to the task.

Don't let politicians play games with our public safety.
