Adna High School senior Kassidy Thomas says, "Come on down and check out what we have this year at the AHS Fireworks stand." You may be surprised at what they have.
For the past several years Adna High School seniors have been selling fireworks as one of their ways to support their annual senior trip.
This year, senior Kassidy Thomas of Pirates class 2016, was on hand on the opening day of the fireworks stand at the Hillcrest gas station.
"Things are going good so far," said Thomas.
Even with the State placing burn bans in camping areas and other counties and even some cities placing local burn bans against specific fireworks, the residents of Adna are not aware of any local fire or burn ban that will stop them from having a splendid Fourth of July.
"We use the money to help pay for our senior trip," said Thomas.
With the stand opening on June 28 at noon, sales were a little slow but the enthusiasm of the students was refreshing. The fundraiser has netted the school a few thousand dollars in the history of running the fireworks stand and helps with the future of the students involved in the program.
Local Adna residents are encouraged to stop by the Adna High School Firework stand and grab a few of the great deals that they are offering this year. Along with the simple pleasures like Snappers they also have a selection of mortar displays that will light up your Fourth of July.
As always residents are cautioned to keep their ears to the ground for any last minute changes with the local authorities and proper use of fireworks in their area.
