After the lack of solutions brought from the big internet meeting on April 8th, Winlock citizens and the Winlock Improvement Network are looking toward the next step in helping to fix the internet problems in Winlock. WIN is hosting two workshops to help citizens with internet trouble file informal complaints to the FCC. Both meetings will be at Winlock High School in the computer lab, Room 175. The first meeting will be Wednesday June 8th at 7 PM and the second one will be on Saturday June 11th at 10 AM.
The Winlock Improvement Network encourages all CenturyLink customers who are unhappy with their service to attend. Mark Velasco has filed the first complaint and received a ticket number. CenturyLink will be served with your complaint directly from the FCC and, as required by law, will respond within a 30 day period. The more complaints received, the more pressure CenturyLink feels to help address this issue.
Please sign up for free speed tests at Testmy.net and the results will be saved to bring to the workshop. WIN and the Winlock internet group encourages all people with connection issues to continue to keep contacting our local and state representatives, specifically Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler and Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.
