Elmire Despres Langer

Elmire was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada on July 28,1920 to Alban and Elvina Despres. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada. She taught elementary school for two years before she met and married her husband Walter Langer while he was stationed with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Kapuskasing during World War II. In 1945, at the end of the war, they made their home in Raymond.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Elmire was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Over the years she enjoyed knitting, reading and collecting books and in later years developed her talent for oil painting. 

Elmire had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church for many years where she was a member of the choir.

Walter, her loving husband of 65 years, predeceased Elmire. Her daughter Kris Taylor of Yelm and two grandchildren, Melanie McFarland, and Phil McFarland survive Elmire. She also had three great-grandchildren, Derek, Terra and Brittany and three great-great grandchildren, Pierce, Quinn and Alexis. Her parents and her brother Gerald, and sisters May, Ida, and Eva predeceased her. She is survived by her sister Helen.
