District 15 recognizes top responders and retirees at awards dinner

Lewis County Fire District 15, of Winlock, recognized multiple responders and retirees during their awards dinner on Saturday. Among those honored were (pictured, right to left) Larry Bremgartner, who retired after 21 years, Carrie Pennington, who retired after 33 years, and Bob Hemenway, who retired after 24 years. Not present but also recognized was Dan Smith, who retired after 13 years. Additionally, Bremgartner was recognized with the Top Rung Award for overall excellence during 2014.

The district's top responders included (left to right) Russ Feters (124 calls), Karen Fenstermaker (97 calls), Jarryd Forler (104 calls), Rod Fenstermaker (141 calls), and Chief Russ Larson (147 calls). Karen Fenstermaker was also recognized by the district's Board of Commissioners for outstanding service, while Fetters was named Firefighter of the Year. Patrick Jacobson (far right) was also named EMT of the Year. "I'd like to thank each and every one of them for all the time they put in," stated Larson.
