Debbie Ogilvie, a longtime resident of the South Bend-Raymond area, passed away on February 4th at the age of 61. She was born on June 25th, 1951 in Oregon City, Ore. to the late Violet and Marlin Johnson.
Debbie attended South Bend High School and married her high school sweet heart, Bob Ogilvie, on March 2, 1968. They spent 46 wonderful years together.
She worked at Harbor Bell in Bay Center for many years where she made many lifetime friends. Most recently, she worked as the manager of Raymond House Apartments and was recently recognized for her 10 years of dedication to her work and her residents. For the past year, she also took on the responsibility of managing the Raymond Manor Apartments. Debbie enjoyed going on road trips with her husband, Bob, her sister, Vicky, and her sister-in-laws Barbara and Fay. She also loved her trips to the Casinos with her husband Bob. Her life revolved around her family. She loved spending time with them at the Nemah Ranch, playing and fishing on the Nemah River. She also loved spending time at Red Sands beach and Rhodesia Beach. Debbie also loved going to the Rolling Stones Concerts with family and friends.
Her husband, Robert Ogilvie, her daughter, Linda Ogilvie Ginther, and sons Robert and Derek Ogilvie survive Debbie. She has 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; a sister, Vicky Meek, and her brothers Donny, Randy and Gerald Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. A brother, Gene Nichols, passed before her.
A celebration of life was held Sunday at the Barge Restaurant in Raymond. Arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
