Car totaled in icy Toledo collision
Icy conditions led to a violent collision near Toledo Saturday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
A 1995 Mercury Tracer driven by an 18-year-old Toledo man began to slide on a patch of ice on the 100 block of S. Jackson Hwy., east of Toledo, and impacted the ditch. The driver was reportedly uninjured but a 19-year-old female passenger, of Toledo, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital after complaining of arm pain.
The Mercury was totaled.
Fire destroys Toledo home
No one was injured when a single-story residence was destroyed by fire Jan. 8, according to Lewis County Fire District 2.
Responders from Napavine, Winlock, Toledo and Vader arrived at the 200 block of Lone Yew Rd., south of Toledo, to help extinguish a blaze that resulted in “a substantial amount of damage” to the home, according to responders.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be a chimney failure.

Toledo man booked for attempted rape
A Toledo man was arrested after allegedly trying to rape a sleeping friend at his home Dec. 10, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Ronald Satterlee, 45, was arrested on the 1400 block of SR 505, east of Toledo, after the victim, a 25-year-old Toledo woman, called to report he had attacked her after the pair shared a few beers.
The victim stated she laid down on the couch to sleep and awoke to find Satterlee speaking to her and removing her clothes. She began to resist but he got on top of her and at one point struck her in the head in an attempt to knock her unconscious, according to the victim. Satterlee then got up and threatened to kill the victim, who then fled home and reported the incident to law enforcement.
Satterlee was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for attempted rape, first degree, and is currently being held without bail.

Man sought in Winlock domestic assault
A Napavine man is being sought after allegedly violating a protection order in Winlock Friday, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Adam C Sullivan, 30, has been referred for charges of felony violation of a protection order and fourth-degree assault/domestic violence after his wife, a 41-year-old Winlock woman, called police to report Sullivan had attacked her on the 200 block of Roe Rd., south of Winlock.
The victim stated she invited Sullivan to her house to talk and he became agitated after the victim began “pushing him verbally,” according to the report. Sullivan eventually grabbed her by the shirt and scratched her neck and chest, then fled the house on foot.
Responding deputies were unable to immediately locate Sullivan but found “obvious red marks” on the victim and have referred him to the Lewis County Prosecutors Office for the aforementioned charges.
Toledo man finds Interstate batteries missing
A Toledo man reported Sunday someone had stolen batteries from his excavator in the last few months, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
The 64-year-old male victim said someone stole Interstate batteries from his property on the 200 block of Grimes Rd., east of Toledo, sometime since last September. The estimated loss is $300.
