Farmer's market to hold Mother's Day hours

The Winlock Farmer's Market will be open for special Mother's Day hours this Wednesday to allow extra time for gift shopping.

Normally open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the market will be extending their closing time to 6:30 p.m. this week and interested shoppers and vendors are invited to participate.

The cost for a booth is $10 per week and those with questions may call Jeanie Emenegger at (360) 785-4817.

Finn Lodge hosting anniversary dinner

The Winlock Finn Lodge will be hosting its 107th anniversary at the Hope Grange this Thursday at 4 p.m.

There will be local entertainment, a light dinner furnished by the lodge combined with a 'pot-luck' and a silent auction to assist their scholarship program. All are welcome to attend, but please RSVP, if you can, by calling 360-785-0660 or e-mail Hope Grange is located at 155 Antrim Rd., Winlock.

Friday deadline to sell at Ryderwood Craft Fair

A few days remain to participate in Ryderwood's annual Spring Arts & Crafts Fair and Quilt Display, scheduled this year for May 15 and 16.

Space is limited to 35 and prospective vendors are required to sign up by this Friday. The cost is $20 for each 6 ft.-by-6 ft. space, table included. Interested vendors should contact Norma at (360) 295-3672 for an application.

Battle of the CowlArts

The 9th annual Battle of the CowlArts is scheduled to open this Friday, featuring work from student artists at Toledo and Winlock High Schools.

This free art gallery/contest will be running May 8 to 10, and 14 to 16, from noon to 5 p.m. each day, except May 8, which will be open 5 to 8 p.m. Feel free to drop by and see the works of fledgling local artists, and vote for the pieces you feel place best in different categories.

Annual dessert auction for Evaline Boosters

The Evaline Booster club will be hosting their annual dessert auction this Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Evaline Schoolhouse (111 Schoolhouse Rd., Winlock).

Each year, students, with help from their families, bake a yummy treat for the auction, with all proceeds used for fieldtrips, activities and items for the classrooms. Donations are also accepted during the auction for those simply wishing to help.

Annual library plant sale

The Friends of the Winlock Timberland Library will be holding their annual plant sale fundraiser this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Choose from a wide variety of seedlings, perennials, bulbs, plant divisions, houseplants, trees and shrubs. All precedes benefit ongoing programs at the library.

Mother's Day tea

The Toledo Community Library will be hosting afternoon tea to celebrate Mother's Day this Saturday at 1 p.m.

Guests will enjoy fancy China, tea sandwiches and desserts. Wear your fanciest clothing and be prepared to compete for the best hat of the day. Limited space is available, so call the library beforehand at (360) 864-4247 to reserve a place.

This event is free, but donations to support ongoing library programs would be welcomed.

Homeschoolers Resource Day in Winlock

The Winlock Timberland Library will be hosing Homeschoolers Resource Day Monday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organized for local homeschool students from grades 1 though 12, the day will include an introduction to the library's resources for homeschooling, as well as an opportunity to meet other students. Resource sessions have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with a picnic lunch at noon.

TES hosting Community Math Night

The Toledo Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will be hosting their first Community Math Night on Thursday, May 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the elementary school.

This event is free and open to local families and seeks to help kids improve math skills by playing award-winning educational games that align with common core standards.
