Those interested in becoming involved as a sponsor or parade participant can call April Pennington Farey at (360) 266-7237.

Winlock library holds silent auction

The Winlock Timberland Library is seeking donations for their annual silent auction fundraiser, scheduled to begin Nov. 12 and run through Nov. 27.

The auction is organized by the Friends of the Winlock Library and serves as their most significant fundraising effort throughout the year, with last year’s auction raising $1,400 toward ongoing library activities.

Donations being sought include handmade and artisan crafts such as quilts, jewelry, soaps, candles, and many other locally-crafted items. Those interested in donating may bring items to the library during regular operating hours. For more information, contact the library at (360) 785-3461.

Food bank needs toys

The Toledo Food Bank is asking for toy donations for Christmas. Toys are needed for boys and girls, infants to teenagers. Greatly needed and appreciated are socks, pajamas, gloves, any type of sports balls, makeup and hair products.

The toy drive account is at the Toledo Timberland Bank and deposits are accepted throughout the year. There will be toy collection boxes at Toledo IGA Market Fresh and at Toledo Timberland Bank.

“Christmas was made brighter for more than 195 children last year because of the Food Bank Toy Drive and the generosity of the Toledo community,” said toy drive coordinators Mary Rico and Mackenzie Olson.
