Parenting in recovery classes offered at Centralia College
Centralia College Child and Family Studies is offering Parenting in Recovery on Tuesdays, April 30–June 18, from 5-7:30 p.m., at the Centralia College Campus in TEEN (LAX Building) on the corner of Walnut and Iron streets, across from the Centralia College gym.
This 8-week class is for parents in substance abuse recovery, focusing on understanding the impact of substance abuse on family dynamics, rebuilding trusting relationships and renewing family bonds. Students will apply recovery principles to parenting while learning about their children’s developmental stages and age-appropriate expectations.

Onalaska boat ramp closed
The Carlisle Lake Boat Ramp and Parking Lot in Onalaska is currently closed for construction and may be open by the opening of fishing season April 27. Limited parking remains available on the street and people will still be able to fish from the shoreline.

Planning Commission seats open
The City of Toledo is seeking two people to fill vacancies on the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission acts as an advisory body to the City Council on all land use and comprehensive planning issues. The Commission is specifically responsible for providing recommendations on subdivisions, zoning, annexation requests, reviewing and approving conditional use permits, approving business license, and is an integral part of the implementation of the Growth Management Act. One vacancy must be filled by a citizen of the corporate City limits of Toledo. One vacancy must be filled be a citizen within the Toledo Telephone exchange. All candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old and a registered voter.
