Charlotte was born January 17, 1922 in Buhl, Idaho to August and Helene Burkhardt. She was the fourth child of nine children.
The family moved to Grapeview, Wash., where she grew up and where her last five siblings were born.
Charlotte married Robert W. Kelley January 21, 1940, which was soon after her 18th birthday.
The next 17 years, Charlotte and Robert lived in different areas, including Washington, California, Oregon, and then Toledo.
She started her married life in Grapeview and Shelton. After having two boys and two girls, they moved to California where another girl was born. Soon after that, they moved back to Shelton, where another boy was born.
Then their next move was to Oregon, where three girls and two boys were born. In 1956, the family moved to Toledo, where her last three girls were born.
Charlotte and Robert were divorced in 1974, and she started working outside the home. She worked as a waitress, then at the Thayer’s Grocery Store, when she retired in 1997 at the age of 75. She remained living at the home Toledo.
Nine daughters, four sons, one brother, one sister, 40 grandchildren, several great grand children, and several great great grandchildren survive her.
Charlotte enjoyed having her children and the rest of her family around her.
Three brothers, three sisters, one son, and one stepdaughter preceded her in death.
